Mrs. Leath Abcede

Music Teacher

Friends call me Leah or Lee for short. I am better known as ChaCha to the children that I left behind in a private preschool in Ellicott City, where I was a Music/ Movement and Spanish teacher for 7 years.

I have been in the field of education since I graduated with a BS degree in Home Technology major in Family and Child Development from the University of the Philippines.  I also have a major in Elementary Education.  My graduate school credits are also in Education.

I started working as a Researcher for the Department of Education and Culture after graduating from college.  I have taught Language and Social Studies from K to 6.  I passed the National Teachers Board Exam in the Philippines.

I am so thankful to the Lord for giving me this awesome opportunity to be able to teach the subject that I like best in a Catholic  school setting.  I am so excited to get to know everybody; parents, students and coworkers. I plan to spend the rest of my working years at QOA given the chance. Everybody, from the parish and the school has been so nice, welcoming and supportive ever since I first entered the school premises.

Aside from my passion for music, I also enjoy dancing (I am a hula dance performer).  Although I can play basic piano and guitar, I am open to learning new things and sharing them to the children. When I am not at school, you will find me playing scrabble, working out in the gym, practicing Hula, exploring new places, eating out, helping people prepare for their future or simply skyping my son in the Philippines or my daughter in Australia.
