Welcome

Welcome to Queen of Apostles School

Dear Queen of Apostles School Families and Prospective Families,

Queen of Apostles Catholic School is a co-educational school serving students in kindergarten through eighth-grade. Founded in 1966, Queen of Apostles is a Christ-centered community, which recognizes our students as children of God and encourages them to grow continually in virtue, dignity, and wisdom through their friendship with Christ. We seek to inspire our students to embrace joyfully their vocatioin to holiness and academic excellence rooted in faith.

We offer:
A vibrant Catholic identity and culture—Students pray throughout each day, attend weekly mass, have the opportunity to participate in the sacrament of Penance on a regular basis, are active in community outreach and pro-life activities, and learn from our priests, members of the Disciples of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary (DCJM), who regularly visit classes and are present in the life of the school.
Dedicated professional educators—Our faculty members understand the vocational character of teaching, a call to seek the good of the whole child in his or her physical, intellectual, moral, and spiritual dimensions.   They are committed to their own personal growth, over seventy percent holding or pursuing advanced degrees. They are dedicated to ensuring that Queen of Apostles is a Christ-centered school in which students are loved and encouraged to excel.
Personalized Attention—Our small class sizes allow faculty to focus on each and every one of our students and also to meet better parent concerns. Our teachers are caring, knowledgeable educators who help their students grow in good habits, in virtues.
An enriching curriculum and academic rigor—Our curricular offerings provide our students with a solid foundation for life-long learning.  Resource and Title I support and special academic assistance are available. Our 8th-grade students have scored the highest or among the highest in the Diocese on the national ACRE religion test.  Our 8th-grade students have also been admitted into strong academic high schools such as Bishop Ireton, Bishop O’Connell, Gonzaga College, John Paul the Great, Paul VI, and Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology.
Exciting school activities—Our students are involved with a wide array of school activities such as Safety Patrols, Student Council, National Junior Honor Society, Battle of the Books, CYO athletics, choir, band, MATHCOUNTS, and Nazareth.
A safe environment—Our faculty and staff take special training to ensure a secure school environment, and they work daily to provide a safe place for children to grow in faith, knowledge, and virtue.
Diversity—Students from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds, united as one body in Christ, come together to learn with and from one another.
Well-appointed facilities—In addition to our welcoming classrooms, our school boasts a beautiful gymnasium, an interactive science lab, and an expanded library.
Enthusiastic parent-teacher organization—Parent volunteers collaborate with our faculty to enhance academic opportunities for students and to provide events and service opportunities that support the mission of the school and build up both the school and local communities.
We welcome new families to visit our school. Even better, we encourage your child to shadow one of our students for the day. Please contact our office at 703-354-0714.

Sincerely in Christ,

Mrs. Anne Arias, Principal
